Sometime back, I found on youtube this lady who posted a video with the recipe on making jerky with an oven see Original video here from Nailah Bone channel.
This started my journey on making Cloudy’s own chicken jerky!
The ingredients I used is fresh Chicken keel from Tesco. (I used 1 huge keel about 100g I think… ) only RM3.50++
Remove the fats and skin. Make sure you clean it properly (like rinse a few times) and then cut them in slices. Pre-heat the oven at the highest degree. My oven max can go up 250.
Lay the sliced chicken on top of the baking sheet and put it on the tray.
Put it inside the oven and bake for 30 – 40 minutes (depending on your oven heat) Every 10 minutes or so, I checked to turn them over.
Once it is entirely cooked (it’ll look golden brown) then lower down your temperature to the lowest. Mine was 150. And then let it bake for 20 – 30 minutes, until is completely dry. You’ll kinda know when you take one out and cut it open. It should be no oil or wetness. Just crunchy and complete dryness.
Let it cool on the cooling rack for about 15 – 20 minutes. Then you can store it inside a container.
Note: Please make sure you put it high enough, because by this time, your pup-kid is already salivating for the jerky
Though Cloudy eats anything that is allowed to put into his mouth, I can tell he really LOVES this. The moment I put it inside the oven, he’s been sticking to me and when I let it cool on the dining table, he cheekily sneaked up and ate almost half of it.
It’s easy to make and very simple. And is entirely fresh ingredients (just chicken mainly). It can be stored in the container and put it inside the fridge.
